I am sorry! Conversion to .Net ~Frank Oplumarettu 4.Oct.02 11:59 AM a Web browser Notes Client 6.0All Platforms
Gentlemen,
I am sorry to confuse you with a sentence that combined two thoughts into one. What I had intended in my sentence which I did not word properly was this:
"Microsoft convinces the customer to convert to MS technology. Which --currently-- is the .Net stuff, but previously was the standard MS architecure."
In my most recent conversion the suggestion was to go to .Net. However, previously, it was just the usual MS SS, VB, Access architecture.
--Also--
Good point on proprietary! However, MS isn't the only company that uses that. IBM used this against Domino two years ago at my client saying that the client should not develop web applications in Domino as Domino was "proprietary." That was IBM Consulting saying that! They suggested that the client should use Websphere for ALL web development - and they tried that, but are now changing their minds as it has become clear that Domino web development is faster. And, with Domino becoming more "open" and an integration path between WS and Domino more likely, they are now considering Domino where they would never have done so before.
